Guest guest
We are in the same boat. I posted last week to band or not to band. My son is plagio 7mm off and everyone thinks that I am crazy. Like you I go back and forth between thinking that it looks good and thinking gosh it looks flat. Both sets of Grandparents and friends just don't see it, luckily my husband is on board. On one hand I think gee does it really matter, his hair will eventually cover it up and maybe it will be hard to tell but then I get to thinking what if he goes bald. Not that being bald is bad but I would at least want to have tried to give him a more rounded head. To me this is just like kids getting braces for their teeth. If there is something out there that you can do to possibly help your kids then you should have the right to do it. Why are people so judgemental. I say DO IT and don't look back. To know that you are thinking about banding at 7mm makes me feel a lot less crazy as everyone says. Thanks for posting.
Guest guest
I completely agree - DO IT and don't look back!Unfortunately I cannot relate as both my husband, mom and MIL were all on board. I simply cannot sign the praises and benefits of banding enough.Yes, I encountered 1 horrifically and inexcusably rude person person while Olivia was in her band; but most were curious and interested. I LOVE to tell people about it. Anything I can do to help other parents become more aware. My daughter was much younger and she was significantly flat, CT quoted us an estimated 12-15 weeks and Olivia graduated last Friday after only 7 weeks. We hit several growth spurts which is why she graduated so early - BUT you should see her gloriously round head - it is stunning!NEVER berate yourself for wanting the best for your child. You aren't saying I can't love my child because his head isn't perfect, you only want what is best. What if that hair doesn't cover it up, what if he wants to shave his head? Kids and adults can be cruel if they notice abnormalities. You have the choice, go for it - band your baby. If you family isn't on board - we all are and will be here for you.I often related the band wearing to braces when people asked about the band. It's a great way to get people to understand.Good luck!DarcyFrom: Laughlin <tinkerpt@...>Subject: Re:why do family seem to be against the helmet?
