Guest guest
Thanks for all of the wonderful school suggestions. I appreciate the time it took to write that! Speaking as a former first grade teacher, who loved to cook in the classroom, I would definitely keep your/my child home on those cooking days with flour or other no-nos bc the teacher will have her hands full and even a child with an aide or in self-contained runs too great a risk of his little buddy sharing or something. I love the idea of a button. I have been worrying, however, about singling out my child. I was thinking about a First Alert bracelet, but with all of her tactile defensiveness that'll never work. Anyway, don't you think it is worth it to single them out or whatever when they are little and less able to tell ppl that a little cheating makes a huge difference. I would rather they walk around school with a fluorescent sign saying " KEEP ALL FOOD 10 FEET FROM ME!!!! " than be sent to the principal for off the wall behavior as a result of an infraction! Anyway, I also know, as a teacher who had a PDD child in my room before I ever knew what PDD was, that I knew nothing about PDD and didn't have time to learn it (with 20 other children) as he had an aide and his parents were not involved and didn't educate me etc...... So, my point is, definitely educate your child's teacher. I don't care how experienced they are! Now, please ignore my incorrect puct, grammar, and run on sent. as you can imagine the distractions going on with two toddlers in the room.
