Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thanks for all of the words of encouragement! It really helped alot!! I went in for upper jaw surgery on monday. It went pretty well. I ended up staying in the hospital for 1 night, thank god.... The worst was waking up with the breathing tube down my throat after surgery. I kept motioning to the nurse to get it out, but I guess they wanted to wait until I was totally awake. I have a splint on my upper teeth, but I'm not wired or banded shut. I think the splint is wired to my upper jaw? I'm not sure, just thankful that I can open my mouth to breath-since my nose is completely stuffed up. When is it safe to blow your nose? I feel way better than I thought I would feel. The pain isn't really that bad, I'm taking oxycodone every 5-6hrs. Well that's it for now, I'll keep you guys posted!! christina :-)
Guest guest
Sorry to hear about the breathing tube. They had taken mine out prior to me waking up so I can only imagine how hard that was. As for blowing your nose, DON'T. It was three weeks before my OS said that I could do that. The best way to alleviate the congestion is to use Q-tips soaked in a solution of half hydrogen peroxide and half warm water to clean out your nose. I also used Ocean nose spray that helped as well. Good luck. > > Hi everyone, > > Thanks for all of the words of encouragement! It really helped alot!! > > I went in for upper jaw surgery on monday. It went pretty well. Guest guest
Hey , Congratulations for now being on the other side. I had upper and genio surgery Nov. 17th and I blew my nose about a month after surgery. You should probably check with your OS to make sure when it would be safe to blow. I cleaned my nose everyday, well actually 2 or 3 times a day with a q-tip and that seemed to work well. I really could not feel my nose for about the first month and then the feeling came back gradually the top came back first then the sides and bottom. My nose also hurt if I tried to rub it at all, it's better now but not totally. Glad to hear your doing well, > > Hi everyone, > > Thanks for all of the words of encouragement!
