Our mall here in Bellingham closed out of respect for the people lost.

Borders are now closed. I can't believe this is happening.

New Yorker here safe and sound! My mother was " trapped " in the city today.

She did make it home. (She was not in the downtown area) Many of the parents

in my daughter's school worked in towers 1 and 2. My friends brother is a

fireman and is missing. This hit so close to home. Most of us are paralyzed

with fear, barely able to pull ourselves away from the television. As far as

I know, my surgery is still on for Thursday but I'm on Staten Island and as

far as I know, they are not taking casualties at my hospital. I don't know

if I still have the blood that was donated for me or not.
