Kris: We are fine here... My dh transfers to the subway right by the

World Trade Center (WTC) and even remembers looking up at the towers this

morning before going underground.... He is now trapped in Manhattan trying to

find a way to get home since all subways and bridges/tunnels are closed. I

just heard that one subway line IS running into Brooklyn so hopefully he can

join us for dinner tonight. I got two beautiful T-bone steaks to celebrate

and hopefully he will get home safe and sound.

One of our aquaintences works in 1 WTC.. he is an alumni of our university

and was organizing a trip to the Yankees-White Sox game this Thursday! I am

so worried about him since his building was the first to go down.... I hope

and pray he is ok and pray for all who are affected by this tragedy. Our

cable has been out for over a week (we couldn't get a technician to check

this out until this SUNDAY!) so I haven't seen anything live on TV but I've

been listening to the radio all morning.

All of lower Manhattan is closed off -- this includes Chinatown. We would

have been right there for Camille's first Chinese class tomorrow afternoon!

Good Lord --- I drive right past the towers on my way to Chinatown. There is

about 4-5 inches of soot covering lower Manhattan. There's some smoke in the

sky here in southern Brooklyn and it's smokey and difficult to breath so

we're staying inside today.

All the best,
