Guest guest
I think it SUCKS!!! I had surgery a month ago on the 2nd of April. I'm tired of pureed food, i'm tired of feeling sick for about 10 min after everytime I eat, I want food.......real food. I wish I would've never had done this. I have only lost 24 lbs. I thought it would be more. I should've just stayed on the diet I was on before surgery. I would be losing weight just as fast and wouldn't be nearly so miserable!! in MI
Guest guest
, Do not lose heart....we all go through the... " why did I do this " . Mine happened the first time, two weeks post-op, when I went to my favorite Mexican restaurant with my family....and all I dare try was refried beans....had to sit there and look at people gorging themselves....cause in essence...the portion sizes that most restaurants give us is a leading factor in overeating...this too shall pass! Be patient...in the end I would do it again in a heartbeat! Keep your chin up! Carol Matar Post Op - 10/31/03 Lap RNY - Dr. Adam Naaman, Houston, TX 405/278/135 - 126 pounds in 6 months woo hoo! Guest guest
I so understand where your coming from. Oh my God.... do I ever. I went as far as to call the surgeon and tell him I wanted the surgery reversed !!! He said NO ! he told me the only way he could do that is if I had a a real bad complication.....wanting to eat was not a complication. Well here I am....my Lap RNY was in December of 2001 I starting weight was 283lbs and now I'm at 175..size 12. Now I have decided to take off an additional 15 lbs so I can see if I can squeeze my butt into a size 10 ?????? I started walking last night..man I felt it this morning in my thighs, but it's a good pain. Anyway stay positive !!!!!!!!!!!!!! just remember that what your going through right now doesn't last. Trust me..I remember when I was able to eat a whole Lean Cuisine..what a day that was. I can even eat a 6inch Subway sub. It takes me about 1/2 hour to eat it. Pasta works real well with me to. Your going to fine ! E-mail me anytime !! I understand !! Re: surgery I think it SUCKS!!! I had surgery a month ago on the 2nd of April. Guest guest
, I am not sure what stage you are on, but you should call your doctor. Explain what you are feeling, he may decide to have you add a few foods with texture and taste. Patty Spakoski Open RNY 2-25-99 Boston, MA Dr. Forse 267/145/225 Help!! Re: surgery I think it SUCKS!!! Guest guest
Well, .. My insurance refused me and I am going to Mexico on Tuesday for it. You must pre-pay the doctor, but you can get in within 2-3 weeks. That is how I decided to get around it.. Guest guest
, Do you have access to County funded medical (medical assistance) at all... or anything within the welfare department? I had a friend that was covered here in Minnesota and welfare medical assistance was going to cover her surgery due to the doctor referral of all her battles with weight and the underlying condidtions it causes. Another thought is to write a true to heart letter of your battles and lifelong story of weight issues along with your information regarding lack of insurance and submit it to area surgeons. You never know, maybe someone will feel for you and be able to offer a sliding fee or even just do it for you all together. My last thought is to submit the same letter to Extreme Makeover, Oprah Winfrey, various talk show hosts, etc. You never know??? Good Luck!!!
