Guest guest
I have a hernia they found during surgery (and left in there) but I can't feel it. I guess they left it in because the Dr said it would be easier to get approval for tummy tuck if I had a hernia to repair at same time. Your incision may just still be healing. I would ask my surgeon again at the next visit if it is still bothering you. Colleen Lap-RNY 11/03/03 315/200/145-ish > Hi everyone! I am 5 weeks post op and I had an open RNY on 05-26- 04. I have had a tightness at the top of my inscision. It is kind of hard but it doesn't stick out or nothing. It hurts somedays and somedays I can barely feel it. I think it might be a hernia. Can anyone that's had one tell me if you can actually feel a hernia? Does it feel like a tightening feeling? When I went for my three week check up I told my surgeon and he didn't really respond he made it seem like everything I was normal. Please let me know if any of you have experianced this. > > > Angie > Opne RNY 05/26/04 > 353/323/175 > Bariatric Treatment Center Wylie, Texas > > > >
Guest guest
Angie, I have a similar feeling at the top of my incision...my surgery was June 1, 2004. When I went in for my 1 wk post op, I asked about it, and they told me that there are several layers of closure inside, and that different tissues heal at different rates, that with time, it should subside. Now, I can still feel it, it doesn't really " hurt " but feels " different " . I would still ask again at your next visit, and be persistent with getting a straight answer.
