Guest guest
For me, I had nausea (lasted about 3 days), and threw up once. I was also grumpy, and no matter how much I ate, I was starving. I read that the extreme hunger is the bad, dying bacteria trying to get you to eat some bread or other bad carbs. After about 3-5 days, I felt fine. Good luck with your son! Guest guest
I felt better the second day and the third day woke up with strong flu-like symptoms. Two more days of fatigue, then I started getting a flareup, then one day of fever (don't know if it was a virus or the die-off) and pain all over. Seventh day (today), getting better. Die off is one of those things. Some people feel better at once. Some people feel really lousy. Epsom salt baths (for adults, epsom salt foot baths) can be helpful in easing the symptoms. I apologize -- I don't remember how old your son is. That can be a big factor in how you approach it with him. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Sherry I felt really bad the first five days, like a flu, exhausted and headachey, but then I started feeling a lot better. It took three weeks of "fanatical adherance" for me to get my energy up... but each day my mental clarity, mood and tummy started feeling better, good luck with your son, To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sat, January 30, 2010 2:30:26 PMSubject: Have a ? about the initial die off phase Hi all,I have not started the diet with my son yet but wanted to get some info on what to expect in the beginning when the bad bacteria is leaving the body and the "die off" is going on.
