Guest guest
Ramona, this post spoke to me too! Thank you very much for your words of wisdom. Love, Jenn P.S. I also started off at 357!!! I am not much better off now :(sweetgemlady656@... wrote: Hi , You don't have to buy your vitamins at Kaiser but they do have Bariatric advantage available there. If you get them you will be getting the correct amount you need from the beginning of vitamins. What ever you decide you do need mega or high potency vitamins. That means vitamins that have more than 100% of you daily need in a majority of the vitamins listed. I get mine at Traders Joe's. After surgery you will probably want to go with the Bariatric advantage because they are chewable and usually there is a swallowing issue because the throat is irritated because of the breathing tube that they put in during surgery. I found that after surgery I had to chop my vitamins very small to swallow them. I had open Surgery so I had a lot more problems moving around after surgery. I had my son at home at the time so there was some one there for the first 3 or 4 days. I Think that when you have it done lap it is a lot easier. I am sure though they do recommend you have some one home with you for the first few days at least. I saw at the end of your post you say you have a hard time staying with the 1200 calorie meal plan and exercising. I guess for me I was how bad did I want surgery and what was I willing to do go get to my goal. I was heavier than you when I started out I weighed at the time 357. I found that one journaling everything I eat kept me on track. I made sure that drank my water everyday. I went to the gym. In the beginning I felt weird because I was so big but once I got past my own insecurities I realized that everyone else was there to get healthy also. As I continued going there day after day things got easier and I even made some very good friends there. So I guess it just depends on what you are willing to do to get to your goal. Just because you have surgery doesn't mean that things are going to be any easier. You still have to watch what you eat and exercise. Now is when you show be developing those good habits and making them a part of your new lifestyle. Remember the surgery is only a tool that we are given to help us lose the weight. It is still us to us to make the right decisions to keep us moving in the right direction. Ramona
