Guest guest
You're not the only one to feel anxious, I promise you that. Most babies adjust pretty easily to the bands. I think it's important for the parent to fake happiness when it comes time for the fitting (or in your case, fittings!). I know, that probably sounds bad. But babies can sense your stress and they feed off it, so I made a point to slap a smile on my face and clap and cheer when my son was first fitted with his band so he would see it was something to be happy about. How wonderful for you that the twins didn't have any serious health concerns after being born 10 weeks early. Plagio is more common for twins (and multiples) though, so try not to feel too badly about it. You can decorate the bands really cute and I'm sure they'll look adorable. People will stare, especially since you'll have two! But honestly, you get used to it, and after a point, I wouldn't even realize at first why someone was looking or asking about it, cause I was just so used to my son wearing it. It didn't seem odd to me anymore. It should hopefully get to that point for you as well. Good luck! Jake-2.5 (DOCBand Grad 9/08) Jordan-5 > > Both my twin girls are getting their cranial bands May 5. I feel so anxious about it! I have no idea why it's bothering me so much, but it is. My girls were born at 30 weeks and by the grace of God are perfectly healthy- awesome! So I guess with them getting their bands due to plageocelphaly and tortocollis- I have to admit " something's wrong " with them or something. It's silly, I know. But I trust that the Lord will give me peace and the girls heads will be beautifully round! > > Anyone else feel this way? Did you get strange comments from people about the bands? I'm dreading it, but know it will be worth it. Did you child adjust well to the band? Quickly? >
Guest guest
Hi! We are just over 2 weeks in and my anxiousness has slowly subsided. It is true that you get so used to seeing your baby in the band, that he looks naked without it! We haven't gotten any comments as of yet...and we are walking him around the streets of New York totally exposed in a carrier. We have seen a ton of second glances and even people straining to get a better look...but overall, it's been okay. Most looks are of concern. What it comes down to is that I just don't care anymore. Luke isn't going to be in this helmet forever. He hasn't fully adjusted to it during sleep, but during the day, he is just fine. Don't worry, all that matters is that you were blessed with healthy baby girls! , mom to Luke, 5.1 months, severe brachy, mild left plagio 1 week 3 days in STARband New York > > > > Both my twin girls are getting their cranial bands May 5. Guest guest
Thank you, and ! I'm starting to ... almost... get excited about it actually- I know it will be such a short time and end with great results. I have some decorating ideas up my sleeve... I'll have to post pics in a couple weeks. Thanks for your support! amy > > > > > > Both my twin girls are getting their cranial bands May 5. I feel so anxious about it!
