Guest guest
Woohoo! I just found a great Oriental Market. For those of you in the Indy area, it is Lee's Oriental Market (Listed in phone book by older name--Public Oriental Market) on Lafayette Rd. They also have combined to carry hispanic items as well. I found so many things there my son could eat. Coconut crackers (Ingredients: Tapioca flour, coconut, sugar, & water), rice cake (not like the ones in the store, but like a dessert--6 pk.), etc. Not bad priced too--Most of their prepared snacks were $2 or less for a 7-8 oz. package. I tried the coconut crackers; both my son and I liked them. Good replacement for goldfish-type crackers, but sweet. They also carry beans, seeds, rice, soybeans, etc. in bulk at very good prices (pre-packaged also, not in bins). I also found about every kind of gluten-free flour imaginable (pre-packaged, not in bins): corn, tapioca, yam, sweet potato, lotus, taro, cassava, potato starch, rice, several fruit flours, etc. They have white corn flour for around 80 cents a pound (5 lb. bag), rice flour for 60 cents a pound (1 lb. bag), etc.--really cheap. I know where I will be buying my flours from now on. I also found spring roll wrappers (12 oz. package for $1.17). Ingredients: Tapioca flour, water, salt. Now, what do I need to do to make these into egg rolls? Woohoo again! At least now I can breathe as I save food receipts.
