I didn't really go so far as to fill out forms, etc. but I saw the site and it was extremely tempting -- almost too good to be true! I even found a doctor in New Jersey, I think (although I can't recall his name) who did perform the MGB and I would have gone more local with him over traveling to SC. Then, I read more about that type of connection (the Biliroth II) and everything and decided that the DS, although more 'radical' in terms of complexity and permanance, was the most effective surgery out there for me. I think my profile on AMOS even mentions the MGB.. or maybe my initial comments about Dr. Gagner in the physician section... I vaguely remember mentioning MGB as an option when I was first investigating surgery types! All the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/mt. Guest guest
Folks, I must confess: I was taken in by the Rutledge MGB site when I first started my research. I was absolutely certain that I wanted the MGB, the site was so convincing. I can recall even filling out Rutledge's on-line forms and even supplying my social security number (how stupid of me!). Rutledge probably wanted to check my credit rating to make sure that I could pay! I cannot remember what event steered me away from it and to the Duodenal Switch, but THANK GOODNESS that something did! When we speak of Grace, and I am not a religious man in the traditional sense of that word, I look back on my life and think of several decisions that I was ready to make or had made, but for some reason never came off, and how disastrous it would have been for me had they happened, and I have little choice but to believe in Grace. Guest guest
Steve, I too, have been faced with the same " types " of situations that would have harmed me if I had shown up even one minute eariler. And often thought " but by the good grace of go go I " and I always felt that I was being egotistcal. The way you explained now lets me realize that I wasnt being egostical and that I should be thankful for " Grace " Lisbeth ---------------------------------
