I received some great response of advise and encouragement. I am still a little scared and nervous...but I am 99% per cent sure I will get this done. I am 54 yrs old and a grandmother of 14 needless to say I am not ready to check out of this world yet. I have been married for 37 yrs. My husband is supportive of my decision but his fear is that I will never exercise. I have never been much for physical activity but then I have been over 200 lbs for over 20 years. right now I at am my heaviest at 5'6 " 316 lbs. I have five children and my two oldest daughters really want me to do this, my 2 sons and youngest daughter are holding there reservations on this. I would very much appreciate hearing from you your story is a blessing Race for the Cure 5k walk Hi everyone, My name is Margaret and i live in Las Vegas, I had RNY Lap in June 24, 2003 and lost 101 lbs. My doctor is Alan Wittgrove and he is in San Diego/ I would do it again ina hearbeat. I'm 55 years old, married 31 years and no children. Yesterday I did the 5k walk for breast cancer awareness and was able to finish and not be short of breath, no chest pain and i was so excited that i was able to accomplish this. It was a MAGIC MOMENT for me I will no soon forget. I plan on making a special page in my scrapbook so I can always have that memory. I started my journey @ 252 lbs and as of today am 148 and in a size 8-10 I never have been able to wear this size in my whole life that i can rember. Good luck to all who have had or is thinking about having it. It gave my life back to me. I am available to anyone who needs or wants to chat. God bless you.
