Guest guest
I was looking at BTVC website about yogurt starters and, while I've tried to keep up w/discussion, there is so much to think about I have failed to figure out the strains of good bacteria/yogurt information. The BTVC and Pecanbread website says that the GI Pro Health Progurt contains all 3 strains ProGurt™ Dairy Free Yogurt Starter from Gi Pro Health ProGurt™ is a dairy-free yogurt starter which contains our three strains But on the GI ProHealth website it doesn't say it contains acidophilus. It says it contains L. Bulgaricus, S. Thermophilus and L. Casei . Is one of those acidophilus under a different name?? Actually, I can't even find Progurt on the website, Just GI ProStart...is it the same thing? And the pecanbread website says you would use 1/4 t for 2 qts milk but the ProStart bottle says 1/8 tsp for 2 qts. So, does GI ProHealth carry Progurt or is it now called ProStart and does ProStart contain acidophilus? Thanks! It doesn't have acidophilus, but casei and acidophilus are both lactobacillus bacteria so are both beneficial. YOu can't get casei in a supplement like acidophilus, so I now get my casei in my yogurt and my acidophilus in a supplement. I just followed the directions on the bottle for using 1/8 tsp for 2 quarts of milk, and my yogurt has turned out fine.
