Preop patients...please check with your doctor about this..they are

all different. My doc said that GBS patients are prone to ulcer for

SIX MONTHS after surgery (at the site where they reconnect the

intestine). I had to take prescription antacid as a preventive.

Also, since antacids reduce acid, they make calcium absorbtion

nearly impossible, even when taken separately. An idea I got from a

nutritionist...add calcuim to a little lemon juice until it

disolves, then mix with water and drink. The amount of acid in the

lemon juice shouldn't increase ulcer risk.
