Los Angeles 5K Walk/Run--Suicide Prevention Center

I would like to announce the annual 5K/10K Walk/Run (there is also a

kiddie K) benefiting the Suicide Prevention Center. The center was

founded in 1958 and created the first 24-hour suicide prevention

hotline in the United States. Today, the SPC is part of the Didi

Hirsch Mental Health Center, a non-profit organization which provides

mental health and substance abuse services to LA County residents.

The Walk/Run will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2001 at 8 am on

Westchester Parkway, just west of Sepulveda Boulevard & La Tijera,

just a bit north of LAX.

The entrance fee is $20. If anyone would like a copy of the

brochure, email me and I can fax it to you.

I'd love to have the company of any pre- or post-ops in the Los

Angeles area. Come out and join me!!
