Guest guest
Yeah Grant! I think my son made it a game to see how quick he could dirty his casts! Little boys are so much fun. Congrats on this milestone-it sounds like he has been blessed with a great and caring doctor. kathleen mom to david bcf fab 12.7 > > Grant had his tenotomies yesterday. Guest guest
Way to go Grant! Grant had his tenotomy Grant had his tenotomies yesterday. Dr. Koop wanted to do it in the OR because of it being a sterile environment, so we had to prep. I thought it was going to be really tough, but it turned out really well. Grant sat on daddy's lap and grinned at everybody while getting his blood pressure, temp, weight, and all that good stuff done. Grant is now sporting a plaster cast covered by fiberglass full-length casts. Yikes. It is hard to change a boy's diapers with these things! He peed in the upper part of the cast and pooped on the back side of it. LOL One incision bled a bit more than the other, but overall it went well. Dr. Koop said Grant has tibial torsion, also. I'm not sure if we'll be doing anything about that or not, but right now we're trying to figure out what will be the best brace to use with the spina bifida and retaining the correction. Give him a hug from us =) Thank you, . Grant has some hip and leg issues, so we're having to take that into consideration for the bracing. I've showed Dr. Koop the brace Dr. Dobbs has developed, but I'm not sure where we're going yet with the bracing. We'll be talking more about it in a couple of weeks. Usually with sb, he does afo, and I think that's because it braces from the knee down. I'll be sure to update when I know more, though.
