Guest guest
I researched these specific types of questions by contacting the Department of Justice and personally speaking with an attorney in Washington D.C. Information regarding how the A.D.A. (Americans with Disabilites Act) impacts Childcare Centers and Family Childcare Homes was also a part of the Special Needs trainings I attended. Childcare providers are not allowed to discriminate in these ways. Providers are required to make reasonable changes to accomodate your child per the A.D.A., NO EXCEPTIONS. If you suspect that your child has been rejected due to his/her clubfeet treatment, contact your local licensing agency and report immediately. This type of discrimination is not left to center policy,..................IT IS ILLEGAL. Care of a children undergoing any type of medical treatment is not left to the discretion of center directors or providers to be willing to " help you out " . You may be asked to provide a " care plan " , a description of the medical treatment the child is undergoing. This may not be used to discriminate, this is to provide the doctor's specific instructions regarding ongoing treatment and expectations of the potential childcare situation and information potentally necessary for the providers involved in the child's care. This is Federal law and does not differ in individual states. FYI. --- > Has anyone had their child in daycare while he/she was still in the > casts or brace?
