Guest guest
This is the letter that I have been waiting for. I am planning on going to Dr. Rabkin in the bay area. From what you said it sounded like Rabkin wasn't a good choice any more becasue he was out of network. Is that right? I will look at your Aetna letter and see how I can apply it to help me out too. Keep the info coming. We all need as much as to go on as we can. The insurance companies consider us the enemy..lol. Thanks Lee << Donna and Lee, Please go to the link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/duodenalswitch/files/ There you will find my folder " Hull's Folder " . Double click on it and you will see among other thing the file: Aetna letter.doc The is a letter regarding the issue of the DS being investigational. Lee, I also have Aetna PPO and have been tracking the success rate of individuals with Aetna. About 1/3 are approved without requiring appeal, another 1/3 are approved after appeal, and about 1/3 are either denied twice or drop out. So your chances are at least 2 out of 3. I hope that the research that I have done will improve your odds to 3 out of 3. Don't give up. Make an appointment with your favorite suregon for early January. Make it now, as they have long wait lists. You can check if the suregon is part of the Aetna network by going to: http://www.aetna.com/docfind/index.html Dr. Anthone is in network. Dr. Rabkin is listed, but he no longer is part of the Aetna network (or any other except through Brown & Tolland or Sutter Gold - if you happen to live in the bay area). I belive Dr. in Portland is also is network. Hull >>
