Bless you, Colleen. The plateau question was something I was wondering

about, too. I'm 7 weeks out, and while I lost really fast at first for the

past 8 days the scale hasn't moved. It's so strange how this whole thing

works-I lost 38 lbs in the first 3 weeks, 4 lbs for the next 2 weeks, 6 lbs

last week, and now nothing in over a week. It's hard to argue with 52 lbs

in 7 weeks, but still...instant gratification takes too long! Anyways,

thanks for your message. I guess I'll try to wait for the hibernation to

end. Have a nice weekend!

I want to thank everyone for their replies to my post. I have been so

discouraged at having a plateau so soon after surgery, and it is good to

know that I am not the only one who has had a set back in the

beginning. I guess misery does love company...although I wouldn't wish

this uncertainty on anyone! My biggest fear with this surgery was not

that I would die during the procedure, but that I would be one of the

small percentage for whom this doesn't work. I wish I had measured

myself before surgery, so that I could compare the measurements with

now, but back then I had told myself that I wasn't going to be obsessed

with measurements or weight, that this was my last ditch effort to lose

weight, and that I would just let it flow off at its own pace and if it

didn't work...then I was evidently meant to be fat and would accept

that. That was then....this is now...and what a difference! This

surgery has been so life altering that I can't help but be obsessed.

With the shakes, the vitamins, the liquids then tiny soft meals...all

managed in front of 10 kids and a husband...it is impossible to not

think about whether I'm losing. I wish I could just be cool about it,

like I planned before surgery. Anyway....thanks for the support. I

know this too shall pass, but I wish it would hurry!!!!!!!
