Guest guest
Dear Friends, I'm having one of those days (weeks, years!). I'm trying to figure out if my son's behavior is just a result of bad parenting(but my other two are ok!), his personality or if indeed this is part of the PDD package.Since starting the diet 7 months ago his tantrums have drastically reduced, eye contact better, excema almost gone, more cooperative, and other good things. However he still can be so difficult! He has no fear or respect of adults. He'll yell at us, his teachers, anyone who crosses him with equal force. He is 5 1/2yrs and still has inappropriate social behavior, can't hold a decent conversation for more that a minute without going off on some out of context topic, overreacts to being told no to something (although accepts this diet without complaint). He does have apraxia (improving), poor fine motor skills, word retrival problems, poor use of language, etc. His gross motor skills are great, decent eye contact (now), very healthy, tested negative to metals, food and inhalent allergies, high on gluten and casein. Slight yeast problem. He's been in special ed since 18 months. He's on Kirkman's everyday vit, SNT, DMG, Pro Bio Gold, nystatin and sometimes melatonin. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Also can anyone recommend a good DAN doc in NY (I'm on Long Island) who can diagnos fairly accurately? Dr. Boris(Woodbury) and Dr. Cecilia McCarten(NYC) have been mentioned to me. Any feedback on them or anyone else.Sorry this is so long, I just had a crappy few days with him and am losing it. Thanks.
