Hi there - i had my adenoids removed when I was 10 and then my

tonsils when I was 21. God knows why they didnt take them out at the

same time. Adenoids I recovered very quickly. Tonsils was a little

harder. I think I stayed home for about a week and it was very sore

on my throat. Towards the end of the week I had sushi and asked for

no wasabi in the rolls and they put it in and it burned the hell out

of my throat.

I stayed in the hospital overnight getting my tonsils out and I know

this is really gross but I threw up blood pretty much all night.

However, that was just one night. I used to get chronic tonsilitis

(like 8 times a year) so I was happy when that didn't happen again

and as I result I have been much healthier ever since.

Cheers, Jen

Why not tell your ortho what you're thinking and what you're worried

about?

Perhaps he or she can reassure you, or ease some of your concerns. Or

perhaps he or she will say that they're all real and valid, and that

you need to give it a lot of thought. Perhaps he or she can explain

in more detail why the doc thinks it would be worth undertaking,

despite any risks...
