I think you will find, Connie, that BC/BS varies greatly, not only

from state to state, but from policy to policy. Best thing is to

enlist your surgeon's help. Second best is to read your policy

carefully. But both are things you need to do.

And some states have a law providing that if an insurance company

covers one sort of skeletal repair of a congenital defect, it must

cover others, too -- such as mismatched jawbones!

Some insurance companies (my own was BC/BS, and it was excellent)

fulfill their obligations; others try every trick in the book to

dodge them, as many folks around here discovered regarding property

insurance after Ivan hit. Even my own insurance rep (again, not

health) was embarrassed by how many of the companies were behaving.
