Guest guest
Hi Bob, Yea, yesterday was pretty bad. Today has been devoted to sleeping now that I am feeling a little more comfortable. Sleep has further helped everything including my mood. Thank goodness. Today is officially one week later. This group is great. I've felt better knowing a couple of us having been going through this all around the same time too and can commiserate. My swelling is in my cheeks, chin, neck, and mouth.... it's better but still lots to go. I'm waiting for the gross coloring to subside. Now it's a nasty yellow. Thank goodness for collars. I have wierd numbness too... my lowerlip and chin are the worst. Talking hasn't been so bad, but I'm not banded yet. The splint of course guarantees that I sound like a moron. I like your puppet idea... maybe a huge one to hold right in front of your face. Attention diverted! I really didn't know what to expect so I think this has been both better and worse than I imagined what it might be like, if that makes any sense. UHG! Don't think about that road to recovery... you have the right attitude to deal with it as it comes up. I havent weighed myself today but I am starting to look gross I think. I'm 5'6 " and under 100 now. .... and yes, please do avoid that hockey game. You gave me the willys just thinking about it. It's winter here and I'm all freaked out about ice as it is. Anyway, keep in touch and let me know how your next few days are perking along. I meet with my surgeon tomorrow and will probably be banded then.... I'll let you know how that goes! Take care, Katja
