Amount bypassed if you know? 150cm 6. Length of common channel if you know? Don't remember 7. Pros of your surgery? Too many to list!! Feeling more " normal " Feeling like I belong in society Can move and breathe Have health back Much more likely to see my son grow up LIVING again!!!!!! 8. Cons of your surgery? My mouth is even bigger than it was before =X Saggy flesh Nothing significant when compared to the pros 9. greatest joy being " normal " 10. greatest challenge getting water in waiting after meals to drink it (only want it when I can't have it..go figure) exercising regularly finding my self esteem and worth again still eat to self medicate...need surgery on my brain, too 11. Your age at time of surgery? 35 12. Any advice to others? (about 5 lines if you can manage) Research as much as possible beforehand. Don't be afraid to ask questions of docs, post-ops, everyone! Have an advocate at the hospital and at doctor visits, if at all possible. Do this for YOU, not for your husband, wife, children, parents, society, friends, etc; they'll reap the benefits of a healthier you, but it needs to be something you want for you. Once you've made your decision, whatever it is, surround yourself with positive, supportive individuals. Recognize that the surgery is just the beginning; you need to take care of yourself forever after that. 13. (Please summarize in a short paragraph; aprx calories per day estimate/and minutes of what kind of exercise/and how often?) 3 protein shakes per day; shake, food, shake, food, shake, snack, food, snack (where have I heard that?? ;-) probably about 2000 - 2500 calories per day (too many right now....darned stress eating) WAS hiking 3X/wk for an hour each time...need to get back to that.... 15. Which of these adjuncts do you use? (hypnosis, prayer, affirmations, journal keeping, therapy, OA, meddies, etc.) online support, anti-depressant, occasionally attend doc's support group 16. What is your daily vitamin and mineral supplementation? DAILY Acidophilus, Multi – 2 Children’s Complete Chewables, B Complex, C – 2,500mg, Citrate Calcium – 1600mg (with Magnesium & D), Chromium Picolinate – 400mcg 2X day, Coromega Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplement 2.5g, E (dry) - 400 IU 2Xday , Iron – 25-50 mg Carbonyl Iron (uh..when I'm being good), L-Lysine 500mg 2-4X day, Zinc – chelated 25-50mg, Saw Palmetto (for PCOS), Milk Thistle.
