Guest guest
i think it would be fine to bring them in and ask the surgeon if its possible to achieve a profile like those (i like the first one the best). it can't hurt! and you are paying good money (or at least the OS is getting paid good money) and you should get what you want. it might not be possible, but worth a shot. and its not too obsessive, you just want to look a certain way. gina > > I was just curious, has anyone ever taken a picture of a profile you > liked and said to the doctor, " See, that's what I'd want. Guest guest
I'm very much a strong advocate of " patient rights " if you want to call it that. I so strongly wish I had made my desired outcome very clearly stated when I had all my work done. My pallate expansion, orthodontics, jaw surgery and genioplasty was done ten years ago and I was not very thrilled with the results in regards to my profile in addition my upper jaw should have been moved to correct my lip incompetence, but it wasn't since the lower alone did correct the bite. I had so hoped that I would come out of the surgery with a chin and lips that would close at rest, but I didn't. Of course, my OS and orthodontist acted like I had such wonderful results and looked so great, but there are certain standards that a male facial profile should have to be considered strong and attractive looking and I was far from it. Anyway, I finally got tired of that weak profile and after going through an unsuccesful chin implant, I found an oral surgeon who understands that at least some patients really care about their appearance and he performed a 15mm genioplasty six weeks ago today. Finally, I now have a strong, masculine side profile. So go ahead, state right up front what you want, because if the first doctor says he can't deliver, there is no doubt that another one will. > > I was just curious, has anyone ever taken a picture of a profile you > liked and said to the doctor, " See, that's what I'd want.
