Guest guest
I was thinking about this yesterday on my way to the dr's. I was really scared that they would say I'm not 'fat enough' for the surgery even though I am more than 100# over my ideal weight. Pretty funny huh? But the thing is when I picture myself in my mind, I am not as fat in my mind as I am when I look in the mirror. I look in the mirror or a picture and go " I didn't know I was *that* fat! " But I have been through this before when I have lost a lot of weight (only to regain it of course). Once I lose the weight, I still see myself the same as I did in my mind before I lost the weight. Then I see myself in a picture or on video and I go " Holly Cow! I didn't know I was that *thin*! " Anyway I'm just rambling (LOL)... but it is strange that many of us (well me at least) seem to have such a hard time seeing us as we *actually* are. Guest guest
I am with you on that. I don't see myself as fat as I am. Only when I see pictures or get on a scale do I realize just how fat I am. I guess in a way that is a good thing because I have a wonderful self-esteem, but it could become a bad thing if I still see myself this way when I loose the weight.
