Guest guest
Hi Sherry, Yes I am still around, I just don't have much time to read or post these days. From about 6 months post op until I had my abdomnioplasty last summer at 3.5 years post op, I had chronic back pain. The only drug that worked for me to control the pain was hydrocodone . . . I don't even remember the brand name for it? I was on it for 3 years! I never increased the dosage and therefore I had no problems when I went off it, after all my plastic surgeries were over and my chronic back pain was gone. I don't miss it at all! I still have occasional back pain as I still have scoliosis and arthritis in my back as a result. Now, I only take Ultram when I need it . . . feels so good to be off of all narcotics. If the abdomnioplasty hadn't worked, the next step was a pain control implant or even serious back surgery. I can say from my personal experience with hydrocodone, if you follow your doctors RX and take as little as you can to keep on top of the pain, you should be fine. Addiction and gastric problems occur when the patient keeps upping the dosage on their own. It is a good medication and it works wonders when not abused. ) Vicki (in CA) > Hey Gang > > If we have to use pain meds----is hydrocodone (sp) harmful to our pouches or is there any special way to take it to alleviate problems?
