Maybe you are just used to mushy corn...since you do it that way sue! I like

mine crispy and juicy and sweet. I like young corn...and I do it one of two

ways. The second way mostly now. First way is to bring the water to a boil.

dump in cleaned corn..and put a lid on it and let it sit...turned off...for

about 5-10 minutes. Second way...and my favorite way now..is to get a zip loc

bag...put in 2-3 ears of corn...and a glob of butter, salt and pepper. Nuke

it for 1 minute per ear plus 1 minute for good measure. If it tastes

raw....it's prolly just what you are used to. I like it to be crunchy and

juicy.
