I desperately need help in dealing with the reflux. Bill, We have taken Brett (my 3yo ASD son)to Dr. several times. Although he is open to " progressive " things, like the diet, he is a big fan of double-blind placebo controlled studies. Every time we see him, he asks if we still " believe " in the diet, like it's a fairy tale or something. When last we asked about it, he didn't offer secretin himself. He was part of a large secretin study, and he says that the benefits were just slightly higher than the placebo group. However, he told us that if we'd like to participate in the ongoing study, he could hook us up with the people (in Bethesda, MD, I think) who were still conducting studies. We have so many irons in the fire now that we haven't tried it (yet). He put Brett on a course of nystatin (for yeast- it didn't do much), and on flagyl then ioquinodol for a persistant blastocystis hominus overgrowth (which also hasn't worked - time to test the whole rest of the family!) All that said, he is a very nice man and very concerned with the problems faced by autistic kids. I think he probably would be helpful with your son's reflux problems. Good luck- Sue
