Guest guest
I know what you mean about not looking like yourself. I feel so different looking sometimes although I am hoping it is the risidual swelling (I am only 2 months post op) Have you posted your pictures? I would like to see your before and after. Sometimes the change is more noticable to ourselves than to others. Jane > > Now two years post op (Bi-Max). Debated long and hard as to wheather > it was the right decision. Now age 36. Guest guest
Hi, i saw your post on the ortho website. i was just wondering what kind of pain and suffering you had. i'm considering going through with the procedure because i have muscular jaw pain and can't open my mouth too wide anymore and have overall tension in my facial muscles. i'm just wondering if the surgery helped to ease your pain, whatever it was. that's my main goal because fixing my looks isn't a priority, but feeling better is... if you could tell me more i'd appreciate your input. thanks, judy
Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am three weeks post op. I had upper/lower and have a splint. For me the first week was the hardest part. My surgery was on Monday, March 28th and by that Sunday I had enough of soup and smoothies, I had a break down. The zip and squeeze saved me, I would recommened them. My husband stayed home with me the first week and I am so thankful, it was so nice to have someone to make sure I got my meds and was fed. The second week I was able to take the bands off twice a day for thirty min. to eat. I never knew mashed potatoes and gravy could be so good. Now I can take them off three times a day for an hour. I thought the pain would be the worst part for me and eating or should I say drinking my meals would be cake, but actually it was flip flopped, the pain was very manageable it was the eating that I struggled with. I have lost 12 pounds and have maintained that for a week and half. I knew it was going to happen but I can't believe how oily my face is. When I was home I was washing it three times a day. And my lips are so freaking dry, I can't keep enough lip balm on them. I took three weeks off work and I'm so glad I did. Yesterday was my first day back, I hit a wall about half way through my day. Today I went and took a nap and it has helped my afternoon go a little bit better. I want to thank everyone for all the great information on this site. I feel because of this site I was prepared for everything that happened. For those waiting surgery good luck and for those who are post surgery Congratulations. Guest guest
A tip for the face even though i have not yet had surgery... Washing your face over and over again can be bad for your skin, it can dry out the skin and cause it to produce more oil to rehydrate. I would try putting some baby powder on your face to absorb the oils. I do this everyday now to keep my acne in control. > > Hi everyone, > I am three weeks post op.
