Guest guest
firstly, the average age of the top North American CEOs is well over 60; however, i think this surgery, along with many other surgeries, requires many types of skills.... i'm not saying that surgeons over 55 are inferior, but i do believe surgeons over 55 are more likely weaker motor skills than younger ones… i'm sure those skills are more than acceptable, but i want to have the best odds for the surgery... yes, there are many factors that comprise a good surgeon, but that's my preference... A surgeon in his late 50s preformed ACL reconstruction surgery on my knee a few years ago… I was NOT impressed with the results… I'm not sure if it was related to his age, but it's made me biased – rightly or wrongly so…. PS. there is a 99 year old surgeon in Russia! here's the link to the story : http://www.sptimesrussia.com/archive/times/946/top/t_11770.htm
Guest guest
Having a bad experience with a surgeon could bias me too, it would be difficult to look beyond that. But you can have the younger surgeons, I'll take the ones with more experience : ) It's too bad that Russian surgeon isn't available anymore! There's a whole list of criteria right in that story. > > firstly, the average age of the top North American CEOs is well over > 60; however, i think this surgery, along with many other surgeries, > requires many types of skills.... i'm not saying that surgeons over > 55 are inferior, but i do believe surgeons over 55 are more likely > weaker motor skills than younger ones… > > i'm sure those skills are more than acceptable, but i want to have > the best odds for the surgery... yes, there are many factors that > comprise a good surgeon, but that's my preference... > > A surgeon in his late 50s preformed ACL reconstruction surgery on my > knee a few years ago… I was NOT impressed with the results… I'm not > sure if it was related to his age, but it's made me biased – rightly > or wrongly so…. > > > PS. there is a 99 year old surgeon in Russia! here's the link to the > story : > http://www.sptimesrussia.com/archive/times/946/top/t_11770.htm
