pre-surgery jaws become more uneven?

Hi all,

I have a question for all of you who have already had surgery. My

teeth are completely aligned for my surgery, and I know I have read

quite a few times that everyone's bites pre-surgery are worse than pre-

braces, and this is the case with mine. However, my jaw also looks

much worse. My lower jaw grew more on one side than the other, and

has always appeared to swing sideways, aka crooked jaw. Most people

never noticed unless I pointed it out to them, which of course I

rarely did. Within the past few weeks though, my jaw has actually

moved to one side even more, and it has been pointed out to me by some

acquaintances (can you believe that?). Has anyone else experienced

poorer jaw function and a noticeable abnormality pre-surgery? I know

Jane that you said it sounded like we had similar problems with our

jaws, however anyone's experience will help. Thanks.
