Guest guest
That sounds like a big red flag to me too. Reputable physicians don't need to solicit patients...they get referrrals from other doctors. As a matter of fact, there's a 9 month wait to even SEE the surgeon I went to here, because he's so experienced. Not only should you go to the surgeon your PCP recommends, but I would check around and get some personal recommendations from patients who had the surgery as well. Whenever something becomes very popular, there's always someone who sees it as a quick buck to be made. The recent troubles with this surgery comes from doctors who may not be experienced trying to get on the bandwagon. I also agree you should find out how your name got out there. > I have a quick question. I got a phone call from a surgeon's office > yesterday. They left a message on my answering machine. I did not call them nor did I inquire about the surgery with them. My PCP wants me to go to Lehigh Valley, PA for the surgery. The message almost sounded like it was a solicitation. Is this common?
