Guest guest
Hi karen. I had lefort 3 piece. I too had the springs on my upper braces. i dont recall there being too larger gap on the top, that was noticeable. It took about 6-8 weeks before i was ready for my jaw op. What kind of surgery are you having? Mine was to correct a class III underbite. I had upper lower and RPE-where my palate was segmented in the 3 piece. I hope this helps. Im guessing everyones a little bit different in the prep for surgery. Good luck with your appointment. Guest guest
Hi Kat: I am having a Lefort 3 piece to correct an open bite. They will also be widening my jaw. Lucky for me my OD had already placed the springs in 4 weeks before my surgeon stated they were needed. So he was ahead of the game. So I have had the springs on for about 6 weeks. I now have space between the teeth which is hopefully enough. So I am hopeful that the surgical wires will be put on at my next OD appt in a few weeks. How long did your recovery period take? I am trying to figure out about how much time I need off for work. > > > > Hi All: > > > > I have a question for anyone who has had a Maxillary Lefort 3 piece > > procedure.
