Hi Bob,

10 days later I am feeling fine physically, I have been spending the

hours doing chores around the house, even cleaned the gutters out,

lol. The only thing is the numbness around the centre of my face, the

swelling still present in my cheeks and the fact that I cant talk

particularly clearly yet (I think thats a combination of the cold and

the swelling on my soft palate).

From reading the posts though it looks like everyone is different,

some having an easy recovery and some a little more difficult. I

think the amount of good nutrition you will be able to ingest will

play a big part in how you feel 10 - 15 days on from the op. For me I

just put all the ordinary food I would normally eat into the blender

and made it into baby food which I found fairly easy to get into my

mouth and swallow with a small plastic spoon but then I am not wired,

banded and do not have a splint in. So my diet hasnt really changed

that much but it seems some people struggle with a liquid diet and

loose some weight and hence I would guess may not feel so energetic.

The main thing for me was to stay positive, treat the recovery as an

hour to hour prospect and force myself to get plenty of liquids into

the system and from that I seem to have recovered reasonably well.

By the way I just put a before and after pic onto the site

under " Phil "

Take care and good luck

Phil
