Guest guest
Hi, I have an almost four month old son. He has his first appointment on monday for Plagiocephaly at the hospital and I am really nervous. He has a flat spot on the back of his head on the right side and no major facial asymatry. Can anyone tell me about their experiences and feelings going into this first appointment? Thanks, V
Guest guest
It's natural to feel overwhelmed. My daughter had a similiar diagnosis. We took her in at 5 months to be examined by an ortho who recommended she be fitted with a Starband helmet. There's a lot of info to digest, but the doctors and ortho were great at explaining the pros of using a helmet. The younger you start with treatment, the better. My daughter had a huge growth spurt while wearing the helmet, which helped reshape her head properly. She started wearing the helmet in Feb. and will be able to graduate before the end of May. So maybe in your case your son will only need to wear it for less than four months, which really isn't a long time in the grand scheme of things. > > Hi, I have an almost four month old son.
