Marla,

I am sorry your husband has been ill. Please be careful and take care

of you too - you don't want to get run down and go into a flare. Is

there someone who can help you? You guys are in my prayers.

Terri, Thank you, our boys are young adults and they are helpful, and my daughter is almost 14 a big help.  So far, so good.  Thanks for your prayers, Marla

Marla,

Can you take the Tussinex Pearls for cough? Those seem to work the best for me. That and the Mucinex DM. Gets the gunk up out of the lungs, and bronchials and quiets the cough.

I'm thinking of you lady.

Hugs,

Tracie

Tracie, you just reminded me of the tussinex pearls, I use to get them and they did work, I do use Robitussin DM extra strength  and that works good too.  I'm not coughing too much during the day, as long as I stay hydrated, but in the morning, I cough

for awhile getting all the gunk up, then I'm OK.  How are you doing, with winter coming I'm sure you like me are not happy about the cold, I hope you are doing better going into the winter. What do you think about the H1N1 flu shot??  I have to ask

my doctor, but I've been so sick for the past 3 weeks, know I can't get while sick, did you get one??  Hugs to you my friend, Marla :)

's doctor has said she will have to get the regular flu shot. We get that one on Nov 5th and as soon as they have the H1N1 vaccine available they will give her that one as well. Her doctor seems quite concerned that with the meds and a depressed immune system that she get the shots. Matt

OMG when you asked about the shot I thought you meant something else. You used small letters and it looked like hini (as in butt)

I am glad to get it cleared up so I can stop laughing.

I have gotten it and I am fine.

I got the shot two days ago with the dead virus for the H1N1. So far I feel

fine. I will see my Neurosarcoidosis doctor in the morning and ask him if it was

okay to get the shot (although it's too late). I didn't think to ask him first,

I just jumped at the chance when I heard it was FINALLY in Alabama. I was so

anxious not to miss my chance to get it that I just went and did it. Has

anyone's doctor told them not to get the shot?

I saw my Rhuemy yesterday, got my Remicade, and talked to him about the flu shots, he said I should get both, not the nasal one, but injection H1N1, but he didn't have any in stock, and thought they would be getting more the second week in Nov. I see my

Plumonologist that week so will see what he says and see if he has any. I'm glad  you are feeling ok.  I'm still dealing with the Remicade issues I have for the first 2-3 days after I get it, but after that, I'm good.  Thanks for sharing.

Marla :)

Matt, hang in there I know it's difficult to do, Im sick of being sick too.

One day at at time. Have you tried contacting the drug companies for help,

sometimes they'll help, especially I would think for someone like you caught

in the middle?? I'm thinking of you with my most positive thoughts, Marla

Hi Marla

i do have medicare but my co pays are high and Washington state wont help me

because I make 12 dollars a year too much with my SSDI. I have appealed it 3

times and lost all three times. My co-pays cost me about 500 dollars a month. i

have also unsuccessfully tried to get to see Dr Ragu at the Univ of Wash but

have had no luck with that either. Beginning to feel hopeless and helpless. warn

out from being sick.

Matt, contact your local Senator and Congressman and let them know this info-- they can go to bat for you, --also, Medicare has a special Part D drug assistance program where the income levels are a bit higher than MediCaid provides.

Regardless of whether you meet that income level, apply anyhow-- they may very well pick up your Part D montly premium and lower your copays. You can apply at ANY time- not just during the open enrollment period.

Here is the link: http://www.medicare.gov/navigation/medicare-basics/medical-and-drug-costs.aspx#PAP

My parents qualified for this-- and instead of a $40 mo premium and copays of $33+ per prescription-- they pay $6.00 for each 30 days, and if they use the mail order option- they pay only $12.00 for each 90 days. Her montly premium is only $12.

Mom can finally afford her insulin! She gets 90 day supplies where previously they paid $18 per vial-- she now gets 10 vials for $12.

As for you being so tired of being sick-- I can fully understand-- and it is so important to get outside into the daylight (we still get the Vit D effect when it's rainy or overcast) as it is the UV that we need-- and that will help tremendously.

Hang in there, and know that you have more than 600 of us that are pulling for you.

Sincerely,

Tracie
