Hello,

Yes - we have a spot that I am not happy with from our DOC band. It is on the Plagio side, near the band velcro. Tyler just graduated and I asked our DPT about it several times. Apparently this is "normal" and could take up to 1 month before it really goes away. I really don't feel comfortable with the response; however, I do trust her and will just wait and see.

Is it like a bump between the velcro opening of the band? If so, that is normal.

My son had the same thing and it went away a few weeks after he graduated. It's

like wearing a tight pair of socks for a long time, and when you take them off

you have that ridge in your ankle/leg from the elastic. Imagine wearing that

same pair of socks for months(!!!), and it would take a long time for the ridge

to completely go away. It's the same sort of thing, and in my son's case, he

wore his bands for 7.5 months, so it took more than a month for the ridge to go

away. But it's completely gone now.

I wouldn't have called it a flat spot though, so I'm a little confused as to

what the original poster was describing.

Ah - the ridge... we have that, too! There is an actual flat spot that is to the left of the ridge (more towards the back of his head) - where his Plagio is. I really don't agree that he is down to 2mm on his Plagio, but I can go into that when I post his graduation information... just haven't had the time.

For our "flat spot" that was caused by the band, you could actually see that she would shave the area down so that it was as thin as could be, but that area would still curve in because of the velcro. I think the DOC band is a great product, but obviously not perfect. I'm sure each product has their flaws. I just hope that this corrects in the future!

Good luck,

Jenna
