Guest guest
any would really help keep them off that but no gaurantee that will prevent it, my plagio son lived in a sling. personally I prefer a ring sling (I would recommend jan at sleepingbabt.net) for newborns but I nurse and newborns nurse so frequently it is just so much quicker and easier to get back and forth to the breast with a rs. but for about 4- 6 mo + i do like my ergo I use my ergo a lot but still use the ring sling for quick errands, playground when she is up and down, etc (she is 9 mo old) On Sat, May 9, 2009 at 4:27 PM, vanessackm <vanessackm@...> wrote: Hi all - I have not been on these boards in 2+ years but am pregnant with my second child and need some advice. My son (almost 3) had torticollis and plagio/brachy.......I want to be prepared for #2 baby to also be born with tort and be prepared to repo from day one (unlike last time when we didn't really catch on until he was 2-3 mo old and by then a lot of damage had been done already to his poor head shape!). I am very small framed so I expect all of my children may end up with some 'stuck baby' syndrome in utero. I plan to do a lot more baby wearing with this new baby to keep him out of bouncers/swings. I want to invest in a couple baby slings/carriers but there are SO many products out there - can anyone provide input on what slings or carriers have worked best for you all who have tried repositioning and baby wearing to prevent and/or correct brachy/plagio? I want something I can use with a newborn and also something that will grow with us. I have heard ergo baby is good but that seems better for the 3+ month babies. What about slings/pouches/wraps? Guest guest
I have almost every carrier out there and the one I really like is the Beco. You can use it for newborns then take the insert out and use it for larger babies and toddlers. You can even wear baby on the back. It also makes baby sit correctly for their hips unlike the baby bjorn. It is also super comfortable. I also like the maya wrap, but I think it's only really good for newborns plus it will be really hot for the summer. > Baby Sling/Baby r advice Repositioning- second baby, #1 had tort/plagio > Date: Sat, 09 May 2009 20:27:25 -0000 > > > Hi all - > > I have not been on these boards in 2+ years but am pregnant with my > second child and need some advice. Guest guest
This brings up a very good point, it will really depend on your preferences and your baby. I've worn 3 yr olds in a ring sling but I prefer the ergo for that age. I prefer the ergo over the beco b/c my kids like arms out (though b/c I am larger I prefer the action baby over the ergo). And yes the moby, baby k'tan, sleepy wrap, etc that ppl have mentioned are nice, but I do not find as quick and easy to nurse in and are not as great after 4-6 months. I prefer the ring slings for a 1 shoulder carry but many prefer a pouch, especially for newborns ppl like the contour. The really best option is if you have a babywearing group or store where you can try different things. but if not, try evaluating what you like, what you will use it for and to what age you will plan on using it On Sat, May 9, 2009 at 9:03 PM, Wells <jenniferwells@...> wrote: I have almost every carrier out there and the one I really like is the Beco.
