Guest guest
Hi Ramona, Just as I pushed " send " I realized I forgot to say that I take calcium. Thanks for caring, however, once I read that other groups post, I realized that she was trying to sell her brand of crap to whoever might bite. She was also endorsing " mangosteen juice " too... Whatever. If it's helps someone, great...I just hate any extra junk. The multi's from Vitamin shoppe are wonderful, I get my protien drink stuff from vitalady, but the success from the vites we take can't be sneezed at....and they taste good too. There is another WLS guy who goes there, another wrestling parent...lol...and he takes the childrens vites for active kids...like athletes. It is loaded with good stuff, even more folic acid than what I take....but mine is so good, we are dialed in well.
Guest guest
Be careful with the calcium you can cause kidney stones. Even when I had to take a lot because of not absorbing them well 3 a day was max on calcium. I have had many stones from calcium, and ask any one who has had them they really hurt. If you're taking lots of vitamins you should let you're doctor know so you don't over do. Make sure you are drinking more than 64ozs of water with that many vitamins. Kidney problems are not fun. Take care. Donna J.skynsun2003 wrote: Sue,I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm one of those people that take a handful of vitamins a day. You asked why would someone choose to do that...well about 5 weeks out from my surgery I was suffering from miserable muscle pain and cramps in my calves and was having some severe vision disturbances. At that point I was only taking a good multi-vitamin each day...a friend reccomended I up my vitamins and showed me a website that listed various ailments that can develop form lack of certain vitamins... I was feeling so lousy...so I tried it...within 36 hours the calf problem was gone, no more visual disturbances etc...Since then, I'm not taking any chances and will keep taking my handful of pills every day. One of the biggies is I take calcium 5 x a day, and the why? After bariatric surgery the liklihood of developing osteoporpsis is increased greatly. Normally people who have lost bone mass are not aware until the damage has all ready been done. I used to work in home healthcare and have seen a few severe cases of osteoporosis...I'll keep taking my calcium every day, I kind of see it as insurance.>> I just read a post saying people are taking almost a dozen vitamins a > day!!!!
