Hi Sara:

I went to my OD yesterday and he stated that the space he is creating

for my OS needs to be about 1cm wider. He did give me the good news

that on the 12th of May he is going to put the surgical wires and

hooks on. He said to plan on being at his office for about 2 hours.

I did call my OS after the appointment to see if they could go ahead

and schedule the surgery since the wires are going to be put on.

They stated they would call me back today after they talked with my

OS. I will keep you posted when I get my big date!!

Sara:

I finally got a date today from the OS....JUNE 28th is going to be

the date of my surgery. I have been following this group for the

past 2 years and it feels so good to finally be posting a surgery

date. So add another surgery buddy to your group!!

Yes, it feels good to finally get a date. It's funny because when I

tell everyone they say that's far away. But when you have been in

braces for 26 months, 2 months doesn't seem bad at all. I can't wait

until you and I are on the other side talking about our recoveries!!

Join the crowd with the lower jaw lol! I will be having upper,

lower, and genio also!! I need to find some pics to post. We

actually have very similar bites I think by looking at your pics! I

figure that if your gonna feel like crap during recovery anyways,

might as well get everything perfect! Thats how I feel about my

genio anyways...I'm not soo keen on the idea that my chin

is " plastic " surgery but Im not gonna go through all of this and not

look as PERFECT as possible lol!!

Is anyone else getting genio cutting out good and bad pics of chins

to show your surgeon what you prefer?? LOL...cause I sure am! I

have never paid soo much attention to pictures of chins before haha

Hmmmm... How bout boyfriend coming to NY to work there for a bit?

Surely there are no shortage of opportunities of one sort or

another, and maybe he could take a leave from regular duties. (And

don't those romantic Italians understand pleas like, " My sweetheart

needs me while she recovers from this most difficult -- ok, an

exxageration -- surgery! " ???

Just a thought...

He could bring you gelato... (Good nutrition, no? Or Zabaglione?)

Lol Cammie, you crack me up! Alas, I wish it could be so but boyfy

runs the family company, or rather farm. See, he makes that good ol'

red wine we like to drink so much here in the US and that requires

tending to the vines and generally being present. I'm sure we'll

survive, we've waited this long we can wait a little longer and I'd

rather have a healthy and sound recovery than go back home to Italy

but have a messed up jaw. I just better find me a job that allows for

more than 2 weeks of holiday a year, I don't understand, here in the

US it's all work, work and no play. On a more serious note, now

you've got me craving some gelato!
