Guest guest
Here's the link: http://www.surfdiva.com/ And here's a bit from their site: World's 1st Surf School for Women & Girls! Our surf school promotes, teaches, and supports surfing for women of all ages. Surf Diva also teaches private and coed lessons, including men upon request. We supply the appropriate wetsuits and surfboards for your use. Preparation What is the best way to help my body prepare for surfing? Swimming is great. Pushups, sit-ups, and yoga are all extremely helpful. Cross-training on a skateboard like the Surf Diva skateboard is a fun way practice your stance and balance, not to mention great exercise and transportation. How good of a swimmer do I need to be? You should be a competent swimmer (able to swim 200 yards) and be comfortable in the ocean. " I don't think you will have a wetsuit for me because I am an extra large or extra small person. " No worries. We ask that all students give us their size so that we can make arrangements for a proper wetsuit for you (sizes range from XS to XXL). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Facilities and Getting there What facilities are near the La Jolla Shores Beach? There are several lifeguard stations, restrooms, showers, and public phones at the beach. There is a large parking area, but it fills up early. Within walking distance, there are hotels, convenience stores, a few shops, and restaurants. Check out this website for other info on the La Jolla area: www.lajolla.com Re: Pushing the envelope Kimba, What's surf diva school? BTW, I am in s Valley, next to Santa Cruz, home of Steamer Lane, one of the top surf spots in the world. Vicki A.
