Guest guest
Just to refresh all of you, I had a proximal RNY 2 years ago. Since I was 3 months out, I never got full eating what the surgeon said I should eat. I never felt full. I didn't dump, I just kept whining that everything was to big. My surgeon has horrible follow-up. WHen he continued to tell me I shouldn't be eating more than 800 calories a day, I stopped going to him. I'm two years out and 38 pounds down from my weight pre-RNY. I just went to another surgeon who did a barium swallow. He didn't have exact figures because it was lunchtime, he couldn't call a radiologist and get them. He said my stomach looks to be 8-12 ounces. He said my stoma looks fine. We talked about a revision of the original RNY. He said they are a lot riskier. He had trouble understand my original surgeons report which I thought was interesting. I've been dieting and exercising for the past 2 months and lost 17 pounds. I don't know what to do. It's like I never had the surgery at all. If I wasn't anemic and taking B-12 shots every 2 weeks, I would really wonder. THe surgeon I saw does not work with insurance companies unless they accept out of plan docs and mine won't. Do I just spend the rest of my life trying to lose or do I consider a revision? If it didn't work before, will it work this time? Do I really want to spend the rest of my life weighing just under 300 pounds? I'm scared.... Cindy
