My surgeon also added some twisted wire hooks during surgery because

he needed more control over placement, I think. Also, the hooks the

ortho put on didn't stay in place (they slide in between the

brackets).

The surgical hooks from the surgeon were a bit painful post-op as the

inside of my cheeks and lips were the first area to wake up from

numbness. I soon learned that talking was to be avoided as it caused

a great deal of irritation.

The ortho's hooks went on 3 weeks before surgery and stayed on for 8

weeks post-op. The surgeon's hooks went on during surgery and one

stayed for 6 weeks until it fell apart (I made a quick phonecall to

see if I needed to go back as there was nowhere to hook the elastics

as put in place by the surgeon - turns out it was ok to stop wearing

them), then the other was removed next visit to the surgeon.

You'll likely find it more work to clean up as those hooks are great

little food-trappers.

I think you probably have to come to the groupsite to do that. If you

do, you'll see a line above the blue group header bar and after your

ID it will say " edit membership " . Click on that, and down near the

bottom you'll see a button that says " leave group " . Click on that and

you should be done.

Hope it wasn't anything I said !!!!!!

Best wishes,
