And ,

Dr. Attwood said that many times Aspberger kids are

diagnosed with ODD before they are diagnosed with

Aspberger's. Our oldest was ODD. I t was not a fun

picnic what she put us through. IT was because of her

that we started the Yeast and Feingold diet 13 years

ago. We stayed Casein free after she left home. It

made the biggest difference in the world for her. She

is now 23. A few months ago she called and yelled at

me and said, Did you know that I am allergic to wheat

and dairy? " Because of her ODD when she left home she

stopped the diet. Now she is back on it by choice and

we have a wonderful pleasant daughter. She is also

reading Dr. Attwood's book but refuses to say that she

is Aspberger's because she wants to be normal. We used

a lot of reverse psychology with her growing up to get

her to do what we wanted. No consequences ever worked

nor reward programs. She could always figure a way out

of them. She was also a climber and a daredevil, like

walking catwalks on the top of 9 story buildings. I

think I would rather have my CP/ PDD- Nos son then go

through her again. I think that if I would have know

about sensory integration therapy I would have tried

it. I think that was a big issue with her. ABA would

have worked also. I used to give her an M & M to do 5

math problems. Pre-diet. She would say, I already

added that yesterday why do I have to do it again? She

was reading by the time she was 18 months. In second

grade she was reading " Great Expectations " . At school

they thought she needed remedial math and reading.

Finally they did an IQ test at my request and

discovered in 2nd grade that it was over 160. They

skipped her a grade and then she started doing her

work. Good luck.
