Guest guest
I was speaking with (local surgeon)yesterday about the eating program that I have used since surgery. He said that protein drinks do NOT provide the adequate protein that our bodies need and that it is imperative that we eat chicken/fish/beans,etc - the natural proteins. If you get the required protein from natural foods, i.e., chicken, fish, eggs, cheese, beans, etc, the (protein drink) supplemtation would logically be minimal if at all. My understanding is that protein shakes are pre-digisted and we are getting more from the shake than food. Right? Guest guest
Suzy, That would seem to make sense if you were to follow the doctors logic. However, most surgeons and doctors consider carnation instant breakfast, slimfast, and ensure to be protein drinks. These drinks DO NOT provide adequate protein. However, if you are drinking a protein drink that has 20 to 50 grams of protein per serving, how could that possibly be inadequate? Guest guest
I'm sure our protein guru will be answering you, but she's having foot surgery today, so hold that thought! in NJ ****************************** > I was speaking with (local surgeon)yesterday about the eating > program that I have used since surgery.
