Guest guest
I wanted to share a little bit if info and also have a question about losing the last pounds before getting to goal. I have lost 188 lbs and to get to the top end of the Met Life chart, I still need to lose 62 lbs. I don't know if I will make it but I am going to give it all I have before thinking about a revision. I started @ 430 and stopped losing @ 14 months after reaching 275. I felt pretty successful and felt so much better physically that I was happy at the time. I was still wearing a 3X but when you came from a 7X to 10X, a 3X seemed like a size 4 petite to me. HA.. However, my excitement began to dwindle after I saw all of the people in this group and others reaching goal and getting out of the plus size department entirely. I decided I could not settle for a 3X after everything I had done to come that far so I began seeing a psychologist to work on behavior modification, all of the shame and guilt I felt all my life over the weight, not being able to live up to my Father's expectations, feeling completely unlovable, etc. It has helped tremendously and after a little tinkering with the anti- depressants, I am feeling 10,000% better and am losing weight again. I am down 33 lbs in 8 weeks and have gone 110 miles on the treadmill. (yippee!) As much as I hate like hec to admit it, I think the exercise is one reason I stopped losing when I did. I was only doing it on occasion, not consistently. Overall, I think exercise is a huge key that helps people get to goal and gives you a much better chance at being successful. Of course I hate that! Anyway, as I get closer to goal the skin on my legs, arms and tummy is wrinkling worse and worse. I know people that get down to goal talk about it and since I had not had a lot of horrible wrinkling so far, I thought mine might not be too bad. Wrong! It is getting worse by the lb. Although, I am still happy the scale is moving, it is quite comical to watch this physical change. My question is this, is the fat around your waist and hips the last to go? It seems my trunk is out of synch with my legs, arms, etc. I am wearing a size 1X and am surprised that this is possible at 240 lbs??? I am 5' 9 " tall with a large frame which helps but still am surprised that I can wear a 1X at this weight? It seems like the weight is distributed differently than the last time I weighed 240 (11 years ago) and I was a bigger size. Just seems strange... ? Oh well, I have rambled a bit in this post and hope that my info helps someone else. I have gleaned so much from this board and it is the #1 reason I have come as far as I have. I thought if I opened up and shared a bit, it might strike a chord with someone else. Anyway, I would love it if someone close to goal could tell me where the last few lbs come from. I wonder if I am going to end up thin everywhere and still have a huge middle section which would be a bummer. R in Nashville
