Guest guest Posted March 17, 2005 Report Share Posted March 17, 2005 Hi everyone, I saw my surgeon today for my two-week post-op visit. Everything seems to be going well. My swelling has gone down a TON, and i look like a normal person again. i think swelling will continue to go down ,but at this point people don't even realize that i'm recovering from surgery. The only thing is that I'm pooped all the time. Incredibly tired. I'm trying to return to my normal life, but i feel like i should be operating on a 12 hour day instead of a 24 hour one! doc gave me go ahead to start chewing today. i got to eat mushy no-chew foods last week, and today he told me to eat whatever i wanted, but no steak, french bread, anything that involves chewing--and if it hurts, stop eating. I'm a pretty happy camper; i didn't expect to be chewing for some time. Tonight was my law school's auction fundraiser to fund student internships. It was the first time i've seen a lot of people in a few weeks; no one knew I had surgery. some of my friends said, " wow you look GREAT " (they saw me on day 3, which was NOT pretty...) and other people were quizzically trying to figure out what they were talking about. I am so, so glad to feel/look like a normal human being again. Hope everyone continues to do well, esp bob and katja, my surgery buddies...
