Guest guest
Hi Vic This makes sence to me. When I was growing up food was used as one of many punisments. I would hide food because I knew I might or might not be fed for days at a time. This I feel contributed to my obesity and closet eating. Remember back when they decided that advertising cigarettes and alcohol had to be regulated and limited? Wonder when they're going to catch on about food... I remember coming home right after my surgery and watching television - and being constantly bombarded with commercials for a pizza chain and their " cheesy bread " - I wanted it SO bad and I didn't want to even eat - I had NO physical hunger at that point. I feel like I've developed some immunity to it at this point, but a strategically placed ad can still catch me unawares and get me thinking about food I don't want or need. These people who make the ads are VERY good at their jobs! We do live in a society of ridiculous abundance. And I think we need to learn to manage that abundance in better ways than turning our food into junk that doesn't nourish us but just makes us fat. And maybe share the wealth a bit more with those who need it...
